Christmas has arrived at Marcella-Mia's -from stocking fillers, ornaments and decor items.

Coffee Break

It's time for a coffee break, time to enjoy one of our great tasting coffee flavours.
We have Amarula Cream, Irish Cream, English Toffee, Dutch Chocolate, French Vanilla, Hazelnut and more as well as Expresso, Delux, Terbadore Gold, House blend, Mocca Java and Decaf.
All are available in beans, filter, plunger or expresso.
Make sure you come along to our free coffee tasting morning on Thursday 5th November at 10.30am at Marcella~Mia, A new concept to a fine tradition for gifts and home decor.

Pumpkin display

It is so hard to take a good picture of my window displays as it has to be taken through the glass window.
anyhow I took a few of my pumpkin display and here they are as promised.
The pumpkins are really beautiful in a lovely bronze/ gold metal finish. I think I will have to take them out the window and photograph them again to really show you how lovely they are.

Nativity Sets

Back in stock are these lovely nativity sets, one in silver finish and one in painted wood/resin mix.
The silver finish has 5 pieces, Mary holding baby Jesus, Joseph and the three wise kings.
The wood/resin painted set consists of 7 pieces, Mary with baby Jesus, Joseph, three wise kings,
a shepherd and angel.

Coffee Tasting

A new event for Marcella~Mia is our coffee tasting morning on Thursday 5th November from 10.30am.
Come along and join us - its free, we have a range of coffee flavours and grinds for you to enjoy.
We also stock a small range of pure vanilla products and bottled delights and will offer some home baked delights to enjoy with your coffee tasting.

Promotional lunches

October 22nd is the first of Marcella~Mia's promotional lunches.
Each lunch will have a theme and this will promote certain items sold in the shop.
The first one on thursday 22nd October is "Tantalizing Tastes of Tuscany".
The chef is Ruth and the menu consists of "back to basic" good homestyle cooking where heart and soul goes into making each delicious dish. As we can only seat 10, booking is essential. Price is R110 per person for a full three course meal including a few freebies thrown in.

Thursday 12th November is a menu from "Around the World" with chef Cecile.
Thursday 26th November is "Derbyshire Delights - a summer picnic" with chef Ruth.
All meals are served from 12 noon to 2pm.

Pumpkins and More

While out meandering today with my daughter I found some great pumpkins, an old boot and old bells. I am going to use these to do my window display for October. As soon as I have done so I will take some pictures but just want to add, these are really different items, so keep a look out!mmmmmmmmmmmm could it be Trick or Treat!

What's new this Week

Well beisdes the wonderful Christmas decoration, we have received our lovely handmade bags.
Made in South Africa by a small group of workers, these bags have leather trims and handles and a variety of wonderful fabrics a styles to choose from. All are fully lined with co-ordinating fabrics with inside pockets and zip closures. Overnight bags, travel bags, shoppers and more, pop in to see them all.

a Perfect Day

Today was just perfect, a day when all plans came together. It was the opening of my shop, Marcella~Mia. Customers started arriving from 7am when I opened the doors and the last one left after 5.30pm. There are a wonderful festive spirit with the launch of my new Christmas range and many items sold out. Everyone enjoyed the free refreshments on offer all day and lots of chattering was heared around the table.
Thank you to all those who could attend to make this a special occasion.

Thank you too for all the beautiful flowers.

A New Beginning

On Thursday 1st October, Marcella~Mia will be born.
A little history:
A store front gift shop that originally started out as "Home Industries" some 30 years ago by my mum, Marcella Parkhouse, then soon became the well known "Marcella's" about two years later, will now become "Marcella~Mia".
When my mum passed away in June 2008, she left behind a wonderful legacy for shoppers in the upper highway area and it has been a real yo-yo existence, trying to sort out her beloved shop, deciding what direction to take- sell, close down or continue.
Finally things have become clearer and combining mum's shop with mine of the past fifteen years, "Marcella~Mia" has evolved.

So this is an invitation to join us on Thursday 1st October for the official opening of "Marcella~Mia", a new concept to a fine tradition.
Time: 8-30am -5.30pm
